About this ebook

The Atlantis Grail has been optioned for development as a feature film series and/or TV series.

You have two options. You die, or you Qualify.

The year is 2047. An extinction-level asteroid is hurtling toward Earth, and the descendants of ancient Atlantis have returned from the stars in their silver ships to offer humanity help.

But there's a catch.

They can only take a tiny percent of the Earth's population back to the colony planet Atlantis. And in order to be chosen, you must be a teen, you must be bright, talented, and athletic, and you must Qualify.

Sixteen-year-old Gwenevere Lark is determined not only to Qualify but to rescue her entire family.

Because there's a loophole.

If you are good enough to Qualify, you are eligible to compete in the brutal games of the Atlantis Grail, which grants all winners the laurels, high tech luxuries, and full privileges of Atlantis Citizenship. And if you are in the Top Ten, then all your wildest wishes are granted… Such as curing your mother's cancer.

There is only one problem.

Gwen Lark is known as a klutz and a nerd. While she's a hotshot in classics, history, science, and languages, the closest she's come to sports is a backyard pool and a skateboard.

This time she is in over her head, and in for a fight of her life, against impossible odds and world-class competition—including Logan Sangre, the most amazing guy in her school, the one she's been crushing on, and who doesn't seem to know she exists.

Because every other teen on Earth has the same idea.

You Qualify or you die.

QUALIFY is Book One of The Atlantis Grail series.

Terribly boring, so much so, I could only manage 100 pages before I just gave up at the mediocre tripe. Stereotypes abound as this was written by a 40 year old woman trying to write in the voice of a very average bland teenager... honestly, the teenagers in this book are very unrealistic... laughably so. This is a very poor crossover of Hunger Games and the Divergent series. I had previously written a more in depth review but it mysteriously disappeared.

It was worth reading on my commutes and a snatched moment at lunch. At first I viewed the main character as a bit of a Marie Jane, friends came easily and problems were just suddenly solved. But looking back over it, she makes her decisions, takes responsibility and things mostly come down on her side. Her character seems already developed when the story starts, so she uses her strengths to make the most of her situations.

If you liked “The Hunger Games” (or just dystopia novels in general) this book is for you. The technological premises are challenging and well-thought. In my humble view the main character is a bit overdeveloped and all other characters have to live in her shadow (yes, it's a girl). There is also a nice blend of romance and adventure which makes the book attractive for the teens/young adults audience and certainly suitable for older generations.
