Fascinating story. I guess I'm getting jaded, losing interest in the sex scenes while the background plot occupies more of my attention. This one is fairly routine. The shifters are cougar which I liked because they're pretty unusual subjects. They gather annually when the females go into heat. The males attend to fight for dominance and the right to try to impregnate them. They are not really a pride because cougars are independent felines, but when there is a threat to the group, they do come together to dispatch it. The gathering is imminent and the shifter who guards and provides upkeep of the cabins discovers a human photographer trespassing on the property. Surprise! She's his fated mate but also an unmated female. His dilemma-- chase her off to protect them all from discovery or take time to woo her? He waits too long to decide and meanwhile a hunter for an anti-shifter group appears to take out everyone. It's all good tho. Read it for the sex or the plot. You won't be sorry.

WOW, did I love this book!! Felicity has really been on a roll lately, first with her recent release, Esher (he is my favorite hero of all time) and now with this book...I'm ECSTATIC to read the next one! Firstly, I LOVE the idea of the "true mate" or the "fated mate," and that's what this book was all about. But Felicity drew it out so perfectly, from when the couple first mt each other to Rath's realization (and resistance to) their pull towards each other. As always, the imagery was perfectly done. I felit like I was at Cougar Creek seeing the mist rising off the water and the black bears and Rath's shirtless fly fishing :) I am THRILLED there are more book sin the series, and I'm dying to read them all!!!

Felicity is a great writer. She has a way to pull you into the characters creating a vested interest. Having read the preceding series, this story brings it all back while continuing forward. Great read!
