Take Me To The River by Kaci Rose is a mountain man romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Krys Janae and Javi Wilder. This is the first book in the Mountain Men Of Whiskey River series and can be read as a standalone. I liked the relationship between Emelie and Axel. Their relationship moves quickly but they bring out the best in each other. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. Krys and Javi did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future. I would recommend this book if you like instant connection romances, mountain man romances, or contemporary romance. This book was swoony, sexy and a real feel-good romance. Emelie is ditched in the wilderness after a fight with her now ex-boyfriend. She sets out on one of the paths hoping to make it to the highway to get help, instead shortly before dark she stumbles upon a man standing in the middle of a river. A very tall, big, tanned, tattooed mountain man. Axel cannot believe the little pixie that he sees standing near the river and once he hears her story his protective instincts kick in and there's nothing that he won't do to protect her. When the ensuing storm takes out their only way off the mountain for a few days, Axel cannot believe his luck in discovering just how well Emelie seems to take to living in the wilderness and in the fact that she isn't scared of his size. I loved reading about Axel finding someone who cares about him despite his large size and about Emelie finally finding out where she belongs. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. Yum. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

enjoyable read Axel, mountain man, living off the land and business in trapping and supplying meat to shops in town. Loner, but content with his cabin and the pleasures afforded to being comfortable yet also enjoying the outside. Emelie, city girl on a camping trip discovers her boyfriend is cheating on her, who leaves her alone with nothing. Taking the wrong path leads her to Axel bathing in the river. His large size does not scare her and he finds her enchanting. She is chatty and outgoing, he is quiet and remote. Attraction on both sides leads to a relationship, surprising Axel with how well Emelie has taken to the his environment and lifestyle. The boyfriend turns up and trouble follows to upset their contentment, but all's well that ends well and HAE ending. Love this author and this book does not disappoint.
