About this ebook

All Cora wants is a new start. But when your problems come back to haunt you, how far will you go to exorcise them?

After the tragic loss of her horror writer father, Cora is starting over in a new town, at a new school where nobody knows her. Nobody knows about her OCD tics. Nobody knows about her time in a mental hospital. Nobody knows she sees her father’s ghost.

But her new start is shattered when she fails to suppress her OCD tics in class. She finds herself targeted by bullies again. New town, same loneliness and shame. She’s afraid to turn to her overworked mother, who is already worried about her mental health.

Then Cora meets Emily, the only person who gets her. Homeschooled Emily has suffered serious abuse, and she has a list. A list of people who have hurt her. A list of people that includes Cora’s bullies. And Emily wants Cora’s help in getting revenge.

Can Cora find a normal life by striking back at her tormentors? Or is she being lured into a darkness that will consume the sanity she’s desperately clinging to?

Emily’s List is a character-driven suspense thriller full of dark secrets and twisted revelations, perfect for fans of Thirteen Reasons Why and The Haunting of Hill House.

Truly eye-opening and insightful on the lengths we go to as humans just to escape negative people and problems in our lives instead of just letting go of the negative emotions and opening up.

Fantastic Book! Very relatable, whether you are or aren't: OCD or high school freak, or a friend of one of these, or a mother of one. This would be a Great Movie!

About the author

Sean Platt is an entrepreneur and founder of Sterling & Stone, where he makes stories with his partners, Johnny B. Truant, and David W. Wright, and a family of storytellers.

Sean is a highly-prolific author in both fiction and nonfiction, with more than 10 million words under his belt and more than a dozen published collaborations. He brings a rich sense of place, strong pacing, conflict-filled dialogue, powerful twists, and a flair for high-stakes drama to every story he contributes to. He’s known for bringing out the best in whoever he collaborates with, thanks to his generosity, his adaptability, and his philosophy that “the best idea wins.”

You’ll see Sean’s work as a co-author with Truant and Wright, and invisibly all throughout the studio.

Originally from Long Beach, California, Sean now lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and two children. He has more than his share of nose.

David Wright is a suspense thriller writer and co-author of the bestselling #1 horror and #1 sci-fi series, “Yesterday’s Gone.”

David writes about the monsters that haunt us and the people who fight them. Whether supernatural or human, Wright’s character-driven thrillers are the love child of King, Koontz, Abrams, and other genre-blending masters. Characters matter, and Wright specializes in flawed heroes, even more flawed anti-heroes, and misunderstood people trying to find their place in the world.

He is also one third of The Story Studio Podcast with authors Sean Platt and Johnny B. Truant. He currently lives on the east coast with his wife, his young son, and the world’s most poopingest cat.
