When I started reading this, I thought the 'play' was intense and more than I am used to from Lila. It struck me odd, until I realized the masterful interweaving of intense BDSM play, negotiations and the direction the story line was headed. Bear with it, its important. And pay attention. No page skipping to the clean stuff. Read each page or you will miss it. This is not your mothers 50 shades story. Lila owns BDSM. Seduction, suspense and, yes in this one you will get one heck of a cliff - hanger. (oh, you will be mad about it too; that you don't have book 2 in hand). Lila is a don't miss and doesn't miss with every single story she wraps us up in. The Masters series is fantastic, but you will not regret the multiple part series like this one. Beautiful, professionally written and of course.. HOT. ARC copy for honest review.

Can’t wait to read the next two parts to Alexander and Alena’s tale!! Summarizing their story in this review would be impossible, as I couldn’t possibly do it justice. (Just read the book! You’ll love it!) The writing was so wonderfully detailed, that the characters, their actions, and the emotions they invoked, consumed all of my attention… I couldn’t willingly put it down… but (for me, personally) I had to in order to keep my focus… there is just so much to “chew” on that you don’t want to risk being inattentive and possibly miss some delicious tidbit!! So much attention to details is something Lila Dubois absolutely always does extremely well. Every story that she weaves is such a treat, you don’t want to miss anything!! It’s like being on a rollercoaster: You get on knowing it’s going to be “mind-blowing”, you ride trying to not miss a thing, and you finish off on a high that stays with you for a long time… and you “need” to go back for more!!!

This first book in the trilogy is setting up the story. We meet the characters, Alena is the mystery we only get a glimpse into who she is and what her motives are. Alexander is the rich billionaire that is private and keeps to himself. They have chemistry and lots of steam but she is setting him up, using him. This book plants the seeds but leaves so many unanswered questions. The ending is the best type of cliffhanger leaving you needing to read the next one right now.
