About this ebook

He's everything she didn't know she wanted. She's everything he thought he could never have.

The last thing I expect when I walk into The Hawkeye Club is to fall head over heels in lust. It’s supposed to be a rescue mission. I have to get my baby sister off the pole, into some clothes, and out of the grasp of the pussy peddler who somehow manipulated her into stripping. But the moment I see Savage Hawke and verbally spar with him, my ability to remain rational flies out the window and my libido takes center stage. I’ve never wanted a relationship—my time is better spent focusing on taking down the scum running this city—but what I want and what I need are apparently two different things.

Danika Eriksson storms into my office in her high heels and on her high horse. Her holier-than-thou attitude and accusations should offend me, but instead, I can’t get her out of my head or my heart. Her incomparable drive, take-no-prisoners attitude, and blatant honesty captivate me and hold me prisoner. I should steer clear, but my self-preservation instinct is apparently dead—which is exactly what our relationship will be once she knows everything. It’s only a matter of time.

The truth doesn’t always set you free. Sometimes, it just royally screws you.

***Savage Collision is the first book in The Hawke Family Series. While it is a complete story, it is NOT meant to be read as a standalone. The story of the Hawke siblings continues in book two, Tortured Skye, book three, Stone Sober, and finally book four, Building Storm. These stories all build on one another and are intertwined. They need to be read in order to fully enjoy and understand the plots. Many reviews for Savage Collision contain MAJOR spoilers for the book without being marked as containing spoilers. This book is best enjoyed without the spoiler information. ***

Savage Collision: A Hawke Family Novel (The Hawke Family Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee 5 Stars Danika Eriksson, an investigative reporter for the Times can't get a hold of her baby sister, when she finds out she is stripping at The Hawkeye Club she is beyond angry and goes on a rescue mission, she is convinced that somehow her sister was coerced into dropping out of college and taking to the pole for money. Danika is a tough as nails, take no prisoners kind of woman, she has no filter when it comes to running her mouth. She gets all she needs from men with one night stands and doesn't want anything do with relationships. She's currently working on trying to take down the head of the biggest crime syndicate in New Orleans who she has found ties in somehow with the Mayor. Savage Hawke, owner of The Hawkeye Club, a high class gentlemen's club, with very strict rules, he works hard to protect his reputation as well as his girls. He lost his dad when he was young and stepped in as sort of a father figure to his 3 sisters and younger brother as well as be as supportive as he could to his Mom. Danika storms straight into Savage’s office at the club ready to do battle to rescue her baby sister from this man's clutches, as soon as she sees him she is taken aback by the way her body is responding to him, but she stays strong and tears into him anyway. He is immediately captivated by her, her fiery attitude and no filter take him by surprise and he wants her. He knows he shouldn't pursue her, when she learns of all the secrets from his past she will run away as fast as she can, but he can't help himself…. When Danika can't get this man out of her mind and receives a dinner invitation she wants to decline, but she can't and their time together leaves her needing so much more. When some of his secrets are revealed her need to run is almost too much to ignore and she does just that, but she finds out quickly that what she wants and what she needs are two completely different things. Will his secrets drive her away forever or make him drive her away all on his own? Can he give her what she needs to satisfy her wants and desires? What happens when the assignment she is working on goes south really fast and to her surprise he may be the only one that can save her, but this could also be what drives her further away. I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to dive into the next. When the book first started I wasn't sure if I'd like Danika, I thought at first I'd have trouble with her coldness and views on men/sex and her no filter but I was quickly and pleasantly surprised that not far into the story it actually worked and I loved her very quickly and I can't even find words for how much I fell in love with Savage. This is my first book by this author but will in no way be my last. I loved how the story flowed and there was no fluff added in to just fill pages, every word was perfect. I loved it!!!!!

Savage Collision (A Hawke Family Novel, Book 1) Danika Erickson and Savage Hawke, the first Hawke sibling brings entertainment and sets the tenor for the series. I really liked Danika and Savage's personality's. The witty banter between Danika and Hawke was fun. A very spicey smexy listen with layers of story and a surprising twist. Oh, we can't forget the mafia is involved too. Supporting character's intensify the audio. Ending with a sweet dripping with sugar epilogue. Yvonne Syn, Alastair Haynesbridge dual narration is utterly perfect. Both narrators are new to me and I loved both. Alistar's inflection is smooth and his tone changed with emotions. Yvonne is excellent at performing. Her inflection hit all the right emotions. Her intonation is sweet and sassy to listen. Excellent performance of both.

Captivating and Intense This was my first book by this author and I am all in! I enjoyed every minute of it. It was so much more than I was expecting. Love the twists. There are alot of I didn't see that coming moments in this story!!! Gotta Love Danika and her lack of filter. This book is super hot and at times funny. I think the supporting character is hot too! Can't wait to read his story. It is a great start to a series I can't wait to read them all! Definitely a must read.

About the author

Gwyn McNamee is an attorney, writer, wife, and mother (to one human baby and two fur babies). Originally from the Midwest, Gwyn relocated to her husband's home town of Las Vegas in 2015 and is enjoying her respite from the cold and snow. Gwyn has been writing down her crazy stories and ideas for years and finally decided to share them with the world. She loves to write stories with a bit of suspense and action mingled with romance and heat. When she isn't either writing or voraciously devouring any books she can get her hands on, Gwyn is busy adding to her tattoo collection, golfing, and stirring up trouble with her perfect mix of sweetness and sarcasm (usually while wearing heels). An admitted shoe whore, Gwyn's closet rivals Carrie Bradshaw's and is constantly expanding.
