I received this book in exchange for an honest review. The title "Cherophobia" is the term used for people who are afraid of happiness. The story is about people who suffer from this type of depression, do to traumatic experiences in their past. I loved how the characters were all linked to each other, they each played a significant part in helping each other overcome this condition. I also liked how love was the ultimate cure for all of the characters happiness. This book definitely opened up my eyes to the reality that anyone around me can be suffering from this condition. These people can seem just as normal as anyone else on the street, but they may be battling emotional demons that you can't see. The author explains these emotional feelings beautifully. My favorite line was " I am trapped inside a body that wants to live, with a mind that wants to die" this line hit me so hard. This book will be great for people who are dealing with this type of phobia, It definitely made me appreciate life more.

A nice debut from Ismail Tahir. really liked the novel. not a big novel for one to read but it is good read. a lot of complex characters round a plot. Though a little slow for me to start but once i picked up and it was un putdownable. I was able to relate to some of the characters especially Jacob in the novel. These characters are mostly whom we would have encountered but really missed to focus on them.
