This book is wonderful. I have heard many stories like this from my Grandparents when they left Germany during the war for a better life here in America for their daughter Ilona to whom the book is dedicated along with all those that did or didn't make it to freedom. Their stories of survival are what I am proud of to be their grandson, and my mother's son. This book is a must read. You actually feel what the characters are feeling as you read on through the book.
