This is a story about Axel and Emelie. It is a fairly quick read that is not overly long almost novella length. Emelie is out for a family camping with her boyfriend when she busts him cheating on her. He then abandons her in the woods. She is trying to get back to the road when she stumbles on a very sexy naked Axel. He has been living in the mountains for some time and when he sees her everything changes. The attraction between them is instant. This is a good story that is interesting and intriguing. I like how the story develops and love the main characters.

Take Me To The River by Kaci Rose is a mountain man romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Krys Janae and Javi Wilder. This is the first book in the Mountain Men Of Whiskey River series and can be read as a standalone. I liked the relationship between Emelie and Axel. Their relationship moves quickly but they bring out the best in each other. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. Krys and Javi did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future. I would recommend this book if you like instant connection romances, mountain man romances, or contemporary romance. The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Emelie and Axel. Axel has been living in the mountains for years, trying to stay away from the stares, whispers and fear he gets from the people around him. Emelie is left on the mountain by her ex, who does not care whether she lives of dies. When she finds Axel bathing in the river she asks for help and as soon as they lock eyes they feel a connection. Will he be able to keep her safe and convince her to stay on the mountain with him? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
