This ends on a breathless moment - You know when you are in shock and it feels like a vice is gripping your chest and you can't catch your breath? - That kind of moment Mason has spent the last decade rebuilding and planning. Protecting and Plotting. He and his siblings are now back on top of the food chain. When fate puts a spin on Mason's plans for vengeance he couldn't be more pleased. Vengeance is so much more fun when it comes with a taste of the forbidden. What he didn't take into consideration is how addicting that taste would become. Mason is a horse's backside. He is 100% so blinded by revenge that his action are harming him more than they will ever harm his enemy Charlotte needs to grow up! Oh, she's sporting a great set of cajones but she's also wearing sparkly blinders - Even when they aren't blocking the truth she is refusing to see clearly She is smart and knows when to listen and when to weigh the words for the truth - If only she would hear what is not being said This is a revenge romance with a touch more. Mason and Char connect - I know it's hard to swallow but he isn't as cruel as he believes and she isn't as passive Or should I say his intended victim isn't as opposed to his form of punishment? And not in the "oh he smells so good I can't resist" we get from most targets *eye roll* She battles him, heck, she runs from him. But something about the way she responds to him - How he responds to her They both feed the flames Now if they can avoid getting burned Hey Mr. Van Kempt I think the devil is calling in his marker

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Since I started becoming addicted to angsty romances, I've heard amazing things about Amelia Wilde's talent. Now I can say I wholeheartedly agree. Net Worth is the first book in the Wealth trilogy and a great beginning. It is a story about Mason Hill and Charlotte Van Kempt. Mason has hated the Van Kempt's since the death of his parents in a fire. Then the key to his revenge walks into his life of her own accord. Her family is going bankrupt and she goes to him for his help. He is a billionaire with violent intentions and naughty desires. She is a twenty year old picture of innocence and goodwill. He makes her an offer. She signs on the dotted line, he helps her and in return, he gets her. I expected him to be a 100% alphahole with a deeply buried heart but it turns out, he doesn't mind tapping into it especially when it comes to caring for his siblings. I loved their interactions. Mason's mouth could light a forest on fire or destroy every pair of panties in a ten mile radius. He and Charlotte, together unleashed, are pure fire. I loved all of this book. It does end on a cliffhanger which is killing me a little so I am dying for the next book in the trilogy. The character development as well as the world building was spot on. I'm dying to read more from it. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

Charlotte is looking for an investor in hopes of keeping her family's failing business from going under and getting them out of debt. Mason is looking to exact revenge of the family he holds responsible for his family's ruin. I was completely hooked from the very beginning of the dark romance, enemies to lover age gap romance. Charlotte and Mason are complete opposites - Charlotte always tries to find the positive, and keep a happy disposition and Mason is dour, untrusting and never finding the positive unless it's in getting exactly what he wants. I kept turning pages to see what would happen next with the dark bargain Charlotte makes with Mason to save her family in this steamy, spicy read with twists and kink and now I can't wait until the next installment. The only thing that readers need to be aware of - this ends on a cliffhanger. When I went looking on the author's website I found the information that this is part of a trilogy- but I didn't see that here or on any of the retail sites. Usually, not having that up front would have me reducing a star, but this book is so good that I'm still giving it 5 stars. I received an Advance Reader Copy and have voluntarily left an honest review.
