Broken Hearts, the second book in this trilogy set in the Midnight Dynasty World, carried straight on from the events in Stolen Hearts (which must be read first) and I really enjoyed it. It was a slow burn continuation of Poppy and Ronan's story as they go on the run and into hiding from both The Constantine and Morelli families. Although action wise it was perhaps slow to progress, the writing, the flow and Poppy and Ronans's interactions and hot sexual chemistry kept me glued to the pages. The tension gradually built throughout but more importantly we learnt a lot about Ronan and why he is like he is and why he believes he's a monster. He's not btw, he's an enigmatic mix of stubborn, dominant a-hole. He's dark and dangerous, aloof, vicious, sweet, protective and caring, but the softer side is hidden behind very strong walls. I do love it when the cracks appear in an iceman's facade and I loved seeing the delectable Irishman crack just a little with Poppy the more time they spent together. Poppy grew and developed a lot too from the meek controlled little girl she was to the determined, feisty, fire cracker she is becoming. She knows what she wants, while at the same time retaining a sweet innocence about her, despite the hell she's been put through. What an ending though, the pace really ramped up towards the end..... explosive, action packed full of drama, danger, tension, secrets, suspense and a massive twist that had my jaw dropping as I teetered over the edge of the cliff Ms O'Keefe left us with! I hope the third book comes soon as I cant wait to find out how Poppy and Ronan's story ends! 4.25 stars

I really liked the second installment. Ronan's background was revealed and got to know him better. Finally I got to know why he's the way he is. Poppy is growing more confident and not as naive as she used to be. While most of the book was on Ronan and Poppy's development. As much as I enjoyed it, I wanted things to move faster. I think I enjoyed the last chapters the most. Can't wait for the next book after the cliffhanger.
