A sensational event led Detective Bass to explore the realm of forgotten women and the upper strata of polo fields and cabin cruisers.

Detective Bass was haunted by the possibility that a mother may have caused the death of her own child, while her chiropractor husband preferred to be on a yacht with clients, waiting for a divorce.  Only later did Detective Bass realize that it was a woman named Eunice who held all the secrets— secrets connected to a different crime.
